Day 39-Day109

Saturday Feb 19th-Saturday April 30th

Boy oh boy has it been a long time since I blogged! The past few month were very very rough. I got to the point where I didn't have the energy for anything nor want to do anything, as in worse than it had been. I think about blogging daily...but it just doesn't seem to happen, like so many other things. For a quick recqap of what happened (as best as I can remember!) over the past two months here it is....

Oral antibiotics made me very ill. I "killed" off my stomach twice as in even though I was taking a ton of probiotics I still managed to kill off almost all of the good bacteria from the mass doses of antibiotics. It was no fun!!! It hurt really bad and I could hardly eat food. There was a few weeks of that, but not together. I bascially went down hill more and more day by day from Day 38 of blogging. I got to the point where I was put on a "med holiday". Which meant I got to stop taking meds for 10 days becuase my stomach got so bad and so did the herxing etc etc. It was SO nice to give my tummy a break! My symptoms got worse...which was expected. My brain fog and neurological problems got worse too. I even managed to start a fire in the kitchen while making pancakes. Which FTR I am no longer allowed to cook with out the supervision of my children. lol

In other news I got a PICC line fianally put in on April 18th and have completed two weeks of IV antibiotics! YAY!!!! The first time, as in the first atempt to put the PICC line in was the most horrible experience of my life. If you ever need a PICC line put in MAKE SURE you are getting it done with ultrasound. DO NOT let someone try and feed the PICC line up your arm like they are cleaning out a drain. It is not good! I had someone try and get one in my TWICE this way the whole time blood streaming out of my arm all over the place. (Now I know what it feels like to slit your wrist and have blood go every where, it is gross and horrible!!!). The second atempt (on April 18th) to get a PICC line in (after my arm healed from the all the crazy bruises from the first try) was a success!!! I had it done at the hospital and it went very smoothly.

Here are a few pics from gettting it in.

And here is a months worth of IV meds and supplies. Looks fun huh?

The past two weeks now have been interesting. Actually they have been pretty rough. It was so nice to be able to have my MIL up the first week after the PICC line got put in and then my mom up the second week after. I don't know what I would have done with out the help! Since I got my PICC in I have been very tired (like I was when I first went on all the oral antibiotics) and the herxing (as in the shaking like a fish out of water herxing) has been odd to get used too...but we are trucking right along. Figuring out how to do/give me my meds was interesting but now my hubby has it down. So that is good. We had a scare last week with air in my lines...but got that figured out and handled. I am not feeling better (yet). Just taking this day by day and gettting used to having a "thing" or rather "things" hang from my arm. (FTR we call my double lumen...my Postive & Negative connections lol) I am still really sore and have a hard time moving my arm still, it is getting better day by day though..so that is good! I still can't knit (which is depressing in itself). But I will get through this and get back to my regularly scheduled life...what ever that might be. I have no idea cause I am so far behind and it has been SO long...but I will and it will be good. I will also try and start blogging again daily. I really wish I would have of the past two months. It is really nice to be able to go back and see my progress and to know how I was feeling etc. So *fingers crossed* to becoming a better blogger!

Lastly here is the picture that was taken yesterday of me. This is how I look daily now. With my picc line in my arm. I get to walk around with a "bandage" on my arm. It is really a piece of fabric to protect my lumen that hang from my arm.

So that is about it in a nutshell. At least a nutshell that I remember. Looking forward to getting better and getting back to blogging. I feel it will be nice to be able to go back through all of this when I am better and see/read the road that I took/got put on that got me to healing and to getting better! I will get better! I have to!!!!
